Lakeside, Watercolor Wedding Inspiration | The Lake Club at Lake Las Vegas

When my friend Brittany of Symphony Weddings & Events approached me about doing a summery, colorful styled shoot on the water, I knew it was something new and different and I wanted in! Her vision was a bright color palette of coral, pink, yellow and light blue with acrylic and watercolor accents. Our first step was to find the perfect venue for a beach ceremony and a romantic tablescape. The Lake Club at Lake Las Vegas was the perfect choice, with a serene lakeside backdrop that you would never guess exists just outside the glitz and glam of the Las Vegas Strip. Our ceremony space was sweet and simple with acrylic chairs, a circle arch on the ground and aisle arrangements to match. Our bride looked absolutely stunning in her sheer-back gown with a loose side braid and makeup that highlighted her natural beauty. Her groom turned on the charm with a watercolor bowtie from Knottie Tie Co. and a medium blue suit to match the calm water.

For their reception, we moved up to the grassy hills above the water and posed the couple with their elegant table setting. Lush florals lined the center of the table which was accented with blue glass goblets, coral candles and votives, clear acrylic name plates and watercolor acrylic table numbers. The sun set behind the desert mountains, giving the scene a glowing, romantic vibe. The stationery suite was truly a highlight of this shoot, with a thick acrylic invitation and white hand-drawn calligraphy. Loose florals on the table and the Everly ring box made for the perfect detail shots. The watercolor cake featured shades of pink, peach and orange and sugar flowers complimented the design.

A true nod to the to the bright and sweet colors of summer, this shoot was a breezy, beautiful day on the beach. Thank you to Brittany for choosing me to be part of it!

Samantha + Teddy | Downtown Las Vegas Engagement Session

Samantha + Teddy are getting married this weekend! I’m truly so excited to be a part of their big day at JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa and I can’t wait to make some amazing memories for them, especially considering how fun their e-session was. These two live in Oregon but grew up in Las Vegas. They wanted their photoshoot to reflect what they like to do most in their hometown: explore cool places and hit up their favorite lounges after dark. We started their downtown Las Vegas engagement session with photos against colorful murals painted onto old buildings and abandoned hotels. Afterwards, we walked to Commonwealth (Samantha and Teddy’s favorite downtown bar), got some cocktails and headed to the roof for photos right as the sun set and the neon lights started to come on. Samantha + Teddy shared a private dance under the bistro lights and sipped their swanky drinks in style – moscow mule for her, old fashioned for him.

Scroll through a few of the photos below and you’ll see one thing in common: they love to laugh. During the shoot, I would occasionally try to create a serious moment, then Samantha would look over at Teddy and both would burst into laughter. For a photographer that loves to capture real emotion… it was truly amazing. Above all else, I love to photograph people that have a good time together and simply enjoy being in each other’s company. It makes the photoshoot natural and carefree and the images end up being a true reflection of the couple’s personality. Samantha + Teddy’s wedding is lining up to be just as fun and I simply can’t wait to photograph them again!

Julia + Joshua | Chateau Nightclub Wedding at Paris Las Vegas | Las Vegas Wedding Photographer

Julia & Josh had been together for 10 years before their wedding day, and actually met and lived in Israel before returning home to the US. They chose their hometown of Las Vegas for their wedding, and knew they wanted an ultra fun, yet glamorous vibe. With the help of Tara from Scheme Events, the couple chose Chateau Nightclub at Paris Las Vegas – the perfect mix of party and elegance to give their guests an amazing experience.

After getting ready in separate rooms on the property, we did a beautiful, sentimental first look out by the luxurious pool deck. The area has ivy growing up the walls – the perfect backdrop for elegant bridal party and family portraits. Julia had an absolutely gorgeous purple and cream bouquet with lilac silk ribbon to complete her look. The ketubah signing and ceremony took place on the nightclub floor with a romantic chuppah adorned with roses and pomegranates. After the ceremony, I took the couple to the front of the Paris to get some portraits with the property’s beautiful French inspired architecture as well as the quintessential Vegas backdrop.

As guests headed upstairs to join the cocktail hour, they were surprised with showgirls to greet them! The rooftop is right beneath the iconic Eiffel Tower and was decorated in shades of lilac, plum, cream, and blush. There’s a view of Las Vegas Boulevard and the Bellagio fountains directly across the street — you simply can’t get a more Vegas experience from any other rooftop on the Strip. Guests were seated at a mix of tables and booths as Julia and Josh arrived and were led into the reception by the showgirls. The started off the party with an intimate first dance (wearing their matching, engraved wayfarer shades), followed by a super energetic hora. The rest of the night was a mix of joy, a few happy tears, high energy dancing and laughter.

Julia & Josh truly had the classic Vegas Strip wedding with all the glitz and glam, but none of the cheese. Their elegant, lively, romantic wedding was one for the books and I’m so happy to have been part of their big day!

Modern, Royal Wedding Inspiration | Green Valley Ranch Resort

It’s no secret that basically everyone in the wedding industry is quivering with excitement about the upcoming royal wedding between Prince Harry and Megan Markle, especially since she’s going to be the first American princess. We’ve been watching the news since they were engaged in November 2017 and can’t wait to see the images from their wedding which will no doubt be amazingly stylish. My partner Vanessa (of Storybook Weddings & Events) and I were inspired to recreate that luxurious romance in a royal wedding styled shoot with a modern twist. We chose jewel tones of emerald green, deep purple, navy blue and magenta with gold accents to showcase the bold, richness that speaks of royalty. The location for the shoot was Green Valley Ranch Resort, a luxe property off-the-Strip that features an amazing staircase, lush greenery and a pathway surrounded by rows of juniper tress. Our floral and decor designer Flourish crafted a glamorous long tablescape featuring emerald velvet linens from La Tavola, gold candelabras, blush and magenta florals, rentals from Epic Event Rentals and hand-lettered menus from calligrapher EGletters.

The day started out with a Vegas anomaly of pouring rain and cold temperatures! We waited out the storms, dried off our decor and were left with a overcast sky and dewey look – perfect to recreate that sense of England. Our princess donned a super couture, ultra modern Christopher Paunil gown from Grey Peal Bridal Gallery. Amelia C & Co kept her look classic, chic and clean (just like Megan herself) with natural makeup, an up-do and a crown from RomanticARTLife. Her bouquet was a simple white piece created to resemble the classic white bouquets of royal weddings, including Kate’s understated lily-of-the-valley bouquet. Our prince looked dapper in a wine colored tuxedo from Tuxedo Junction – a modern twist on the traditional black tie look. The royal newlyweds posed by the ceremony site at the property’s grand staircase and also kissed on the balcony, a classic must-have royal wedding shot as the couple is introduced to the adoring public.

This royal-imagined wedding was truly epic and I couldn’t have been happier with the results! Our amazing team of creatives really came together to craft modern, glamorous and luxurious photoshoot that delves into the world of the royalty. I’m proper chuffed to see the actual royal wedding which I’m sure will be ace. (Alright, I know I’m American but you can’t blame me for being excited!) Cheers, mates.

McKenzi + Matt | Desert Maternity Session | Las Vegas Maternity Photographer

McKenzi + Matt are very close friends of mine, rock climbers, outdoors enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, desert lovers and soon to be new parents! If you remember their intimate desert elopement from 2016, you know we had to choose another epic desert location to one for their maternity session. Luckily, this couple knows the Nevada wilderness like the back of their hands, and McKenzi is super experienced with outdoor adventure photography in her business Taylored Photo Memories. McKenzi had her hair and makeup done by Amelia C & Co and we trekked out to an isolated area and did some beautiful sunset photos of the couple with their energetic, happy-go-lucky dog Bones (or as I affectionately call him, “Boo Boo”). I love these two and simply can’t wait to meet the newest member of their family, coming in March 2018.

M Family | Eldorado Canyon Family Photoshoot | Las Vegas Family Photographs

I’ve photographed the M family several times over the years, but the last session was my all time fave with them! For their 2017 Las Vegas family photographs, we headed about an hour out of town to a magical, mysterious desert land called Eldorado Canyon, or often referred to as Nelson. It’s a privately owned property with rusty cars, barns filled with vintage memorabilia, several plane crashes, cactus galore and lonely desert roads. Basically, it’s a dreamland for photographers and there are photo-ops as far as the eye can see. Of course, every background worked with this beautiful family of four and their outfits matched perfectly with the rustic theme. Also, I love a couple who has been married for awhile and has a few kids/full time jobs/stresses of life, and still aren’t afraid to get a little lovey-dovey in front of the camera. These are my kinda people and I’m so happy they chose me again to make some memories for their walls!

Erin + Kelly | Mountain Engagement Session | Las Vegas Engagement Photographer

Erin + Kelly won my 2017 Bridal Spectacular Las Vegas engagement session giveaway! For their summer photoshoot, we escaped the Vegas heat and headed up to the mountains in Kyle Canyon for some romantic, rainy day portraits. We waited out the rain for quite a bit but didn’t give up on the mountain, and sure enough, it turned out to be a gorgeous afternoon. For their second look, Kelly brought his firefighter turnouts and we used his helmet proudly displaying his (and her future) last name. Sincerely, this giveaway couldn’t have gone to a more lovely, polite and caring couple. Erin is also a first responder and the pair both saved lives and helped countless people during the October 1 tragedy in Las Vegas. Simply put, I’m just so impressed by them and proud to say I know them.

Erin + Kelly compliment each other so well and I sincerely can’t wait to photograph them again during their 2018 wedding at Revere Country Club.

Kelley + Dave | Pregnancy Announcement & Maternity Photoshoot | Las Vegas, NV

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Kelley + Dave many times, including their gorgeous luxe wedding at Keep Memory Alive. After a couple years of wedded bliss, they decided to expand their family and I earned a new role in their lives: maternity photographer! Move over Shea and Logan (their two lovable labs), a new kid was coming to town. For their annual holiday card photos, Kelley + Dave decided to announce their pregnancy and brought their pups along with matching “big brother” and “big sister” scarves. They also used their first ultrasound photo in a few images in case you couldn’t get the hint from the dogs.

Six months later, we included the dogs again in some loving in-home portraits. Using your home is a great way to make memories of your love and pregnancy experience, and it’s a way to freeze this moment in your lives… your home, your furniture, your pets, your nursery. I absolutely love the intimacy it brings into a maternity session.

Pierre + Julia | Neon Museum Anniversary Portraits | Las Vegas Wedding Photographer

Pierre + Julia are French wedding photographers and also a married couple! They wanted to celebrated three years of wedded bliss with an anniversary session at the Neon Museum. When another wedding photographer chooses you to make your portraits, you can’t help but be incredibly flattered!

We spent an afternoon photographing and playing all by ourselves the Main Gallery which is the largest section of the museum and has some super cool retro Vegas signs, including Stardust, Sahara, Silver Slipper and Binion’s Horseshoe. The Queen of Hearts sign was especially important to them because their wedding decor was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Julia had her hair and makeup done by Dollheads and found a pretty bouquet to tie in the anniversary theme. Her blue dress from Chi Chi London was absolutely gorgeous and I loved how it flowed out around her when they walked through the signs. After the Neon Museum, we also spent some time downtown at some artsy murals for a more casual, urban look. Happy anniversary, Pierre + Julia.

Stefanie + Mitch | Legends Ranch Wedding | Las Vegas Wedding Photographer

Stefanie + Mitch’s outdoor Legends Ranch wedding was filled with romantic, rustic DIY details! The ranch features a gorgeous lowered courtyard with big, shady trees; a red barn; pool and gazebo perfect for cocktail hour; and a private home for getting ready. Stefanie was a master DIY planner when it came to her wedding. She worked with her wedding planner Paulina Clute Events to make her picturesque vision become a reality. As guests entered the wedding, they saw a custom designed welcome sign and a table with birdcages, flowers, and a wooden log guestbook. Their ceremony backdrop was a custom archway make with old wooden doors and floral draping between them. The doors were designed by the bride, built by the groom and his father, and decorated by the bride’s friend/florist. Reception details included a wood palette escort card holder, rustic centerpieces with mason jars, succulents and wildflowers, and distressed marquee letters.

After a sentimental first look and a joyous ceremony, we brought them around the property for some portraits with the low sun and the ranch’s tree swing. They danced the night away underneath the stars and glowing bistro lights. The couple designed their wedding day to be exactly what they wanted – a laid back affair filled with friends, music, laughter, down-home barbecue and craft beer. I’m so happy to have been a part of their dreamy, rustic wedding day. Congrats Stef + Mitch!
